Regional Office of the Ministry of Agriculture relocated to North Mitrovica: Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Muja present a new service model for farmers

Mitrovica, 27 April 2026

Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Armend Muja, inaugurated the Ministry’s Regional Office in North Mitrovica, an integrated center that brings together key services for the agricultural and rural sector in one place.
The center operates under a “one-stop-shop” model and includes services from the Agriculture Development Agency, the Kosovo Forest Agency, and advisory services, aiming to simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy, and directly improve farmers’ access to state support.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Kurti stressed that the opening of this center represents a concrete step toward a more efficient administration that is closer to citizens, as well as a direct investment in local economic development. He underlined that consolidating institutions in public spaces not only reduces costs but also significantly improves the quality and speed of services.

Speaking about community inclusion, the Prime Minister noted that out of approximately 32,000 beneficiary farmers nationwide, around 3,000—approximately 10 percent—belong to the Kosovo Serb community. “This demonstrates that state support is accessible to all and that economic development is shared,” he stated.
The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Armend Muja, emphasized that this center is part of a broader reform aimed at rationalizing administrative spaces and improving service delivery. He underlined that the integrated model will enable farmers to have faster and more direct access to subsidies, professional advice, and technical support.

“We are building an administration that serves farmers in a concrete way—closer, faster, and more fairly,” Minister Muja stressed.
The opening of this center in North Mitrovica is considered an important step in strengthening institutional presence, increasing equality in access to services, and supporting economic development across all parts of the Republic of Kosovo.
