Pristina, 10 July, 2026

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, as part of consultations with political parties on the formation of new institutions after the June 7 elections.

After the meeting held at the Kosovo Assembly, Prime Minister Kurti said that the discussions took place in a constructive atmosphere and focused on political current events, institutional dynamics and the schedule ahead, regarding the constitution of the institutions of the 11th legislature.

“We still do not have any conclusions or achievements that we could share with you, together, here. I am optimistic about the path forward. I am hopeful that the prevailing rationality will continue to exist in these meetings. That is why I am emphasizing that this is the first meeting, as there will be other meetings. On the one hand, we are discussing concepts and principles, and on the other hand, also schedules and functions. Therefore, it is a large, broad undertaking, which requires trust and good faith and which requires time for realization,” he said.

The Prime Minister reiterated that he is interested in a political agreement for a consensual president.

As part of the consultations, in the morning, Acting Prime Minister Kurti met with the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza.
