Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti met with the new Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Dirk Schuebel.
Congratulating him on his new assignment, Prime Minister Kurti welcomed Ambassador Schuebel to Kosovo and expressed his willingness and readiness for close cooperation. Ambassador Schuebel also congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on his re-election as Prime Minister and on the formation of the new Government.
Prime Minister Kurti stressed that Kosovo is committed to and is working diligently towards membership in the European Union through a merit-based process. He added that the Republic of Kosovo is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy, shares the same vision and values, and has also made steady progress in strengthening democracy, human rights and freedoms, the rule of law, and other areas.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasised the importance of institutional stability for advancing the Reform Agenda towards European Union membership, which is legal in nature and requires a functioning Assembly.
Prime Minister Kurti also spoke about economic development, growing investment, and government programmes aimed at increasing prosperity, development and employment.
