Vushtrri, 26 May 2026
The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting Minister of Sports and Youth, Blerim Gashani, laid the foundation stone for the expansion and renovation of the “Ferki Aliu” Stadium in Vushtrri.
While congratulating FC Vushtrria on its return to the Kosovo Super League as champions of the First League, Acting Prime Minister Kurti said that this was a well-deserved success for a city that has always been closely connected with sports and talent.
“Alongside this sporting success, I would also like to share with you very important and joyful news regarding sports infrastructure in our country. We are continuing the investment in the expansion and renovation of the stadium in Vushtrri, a project worth 4 million 693 thousand 987 euros,” said Acting Prime Minister Kurti.
He added that the stadium will be built in accordance with UEFA Category II standards, with a capacity of more than 4,000 seats for spectators and covered stands on all four sides through a modern metal structure. The deadline for completion of the works is 550 calendar days.
Full speech of Acting Prime Minister Kurti:
Dear players,
Dear media representatives,
Dear workers,
Sports enthusiasts,
Today, first of all, I have the pleasure of congratulating FC Vushtrria on its return to the Kosovo Super League. This is a well-deserved success for the club, for its loyal supporters, and for all of Vushtrri, which has always been closely connected with sports and talent.
Alongside this sporting success, I would also like to share with you very important and joyful news regarding sports infrastructure in our country. We are continuing the investment in the expansion and renovation of the stadium in Vushtrri, a project worth 4 million 693 thousand 987 euros.
This stadium will be built in accordance with UEFA Category II standards, with a capacity of more than 4,000 spectator seats and covered stands on all four sides through a modern metal structure. The deadline for completion of the works is 550 calendar days.
As a Government, we have initiated and carried out construction, reconstruction and interventions in stadiums throughout Kosovo. In the next mandate as well, we will not stop investments in sports infrastructure. It will be the mandate in which those projects still under construction will be completed, so that we are fully prepared to host the 2030 Mediterranean Games in the best possible manner.
These are not merely investments in stadiums, but also investments in our youth, in the development of sports, and in creating better conditions for our clubs, athletes and supporters. We believe that sport is one of the most powerful ways to unite citizens, engage youth, improve the physical and mental health of the population, promote talent and represent Kosovo with dignity.
Congratulations once again to FC Vushtrria for its success on the field, and I hope that very soon this city will have a modern stadium, just as it deserves. At the latest within 550 days. It can be done sooner, but not later.
Thank you!
