The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited one of the 51 homes renovated through the energy efficiency measure.
During his visit to the Dragidela family, Prime Minister Kurti stated that, by the end of the year, 192 families will be supported through the renovation of their homes, while by 2028, this number will increase to 280 families across Kosovo.
“This family used to consume over 85 megawatt-hours of energy per year, and it will now see a reduction in consumption, along with improved indoor living conditions—meaning warmth during the winter and cool temperatures during the summer—with an energy expenditure reduction of approximately 74 per cent,” said the Prime Minister.
According to Prime Minister Kurti, the five members of the Dragidela family will enjoy more dignified living conditions following investments in the thermal insulation of the façade and roof.
He thanked the Government of Denmark for its funding and continued support, UNDP for its excellent partnership, and the Ministry of Economy and the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund for their work and commitment to implementing this project.

We are here together with the Minister of Economy, Ms Rizvanolli; the Director of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, Ms Hoxha; the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme here in Kosovo, Mr Queirós; as well as representatives of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms Klinken and Mr Poulsen.
At the home where we are gathered today, we have implemented a very important energy efficiency measure through the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund and UNDP, with funding from the Government of Denmark. This is one of the 51 homes of vulnerable families that we have already renovated. And, as Minister Rizvanolli said, by the end of the year, we will support 192 families by renovating their homes, while by 2028, this number will increase to 280 families across Kosovo.
The five members of the Dragidela family will now have more dignified living conditions following investments in the thermal insulation of the façade and roof. This family used to consume over 85 megawatt-hours of energy per year and will now see a reduction in consumption, in addition to improved indoor conditions—meaning warmth during the winter and cool temperatures during the summer—with energy expenditure reduced by approximately 74 per cent. In other words, of the more than 85 megawatt-hours of energy they used to consume annually, they will now consume approximately one quarter, or around 22 megawatt-hours per year. This means that their energy bill will also be significantly lower, while the house itself will be much warmer.
