The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, in the framework of consultations with political parties on the formation of the country’s new institutions.
After the meeting held in the Kosovo Assembly, Prime Minister Kurti stated that the discussion with the PDK leader was constructive although there was no concrete result.
“I hope that this spirit of constructiveness will prevail in the future and in accordance with the deadlines to constitute the institutions. In my opinion, the will is there, the constructive atmosphere must continue to prevail,” he said.
Prime Minister Kurti has also stated that “the responsibility for electing the president falls on all parties”, while adding that this position requires a consensual figure, not belonging to any party, and someone who is beyond the controversies of the current scene, who has proven national and professional values and is an expression of unity.
As part of the consultations, acting Prime Minister Kurti will meet the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, in the afternoon.
