Following the meeting in Washington DC in September 2025, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received Senator Joni Ernst, one of the most vocal advocates for Kosovo in the United States Congress, in a meeting today.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Senator Ernst for her continued support and contribution to deepening the partnership between our two countries.
The Prime Minister informed the Senator about the significant progress that Kosovo has made in economic growth and improving the internal security situation.
He reiterated the Government’s position that Camp Bondsteel should be transformed into a permanent military presence in the Republic of Kosovo. Such a presence would serve as a guarantor of peace and security in Kosovo and the region, as well as a strategic base for NATO operations in Southeast Europe.
Prime Minister Kurti and Senator Ernst also discussed the political situation in Kosovo and the importance of continuing discussions between parliamentary political parties to reach an agreement on the formation of institutions.
