The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the new non-resident Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Kosovo, Glenn Morrison, for a courtesy meeting. The Ambassador will be based in Croatia.
The Republic of Kosovo is grateful and appreciative of Australia’s assistance and support, from the reception and accommodation of thousands of refugees during the last war, to Australia’s immediate recognition of Kosovo’s independence and its support for strengthening Kosovo’s international subjectivity.
Following the initial discussions between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Canberra in July 2024, the Republic of Kosovo is interested in holding a second round of talks in Prishtina.
In addition to bilateral relations and opportunities to deepen cooperation in the areas of the economy, trade, industry, mining, energy and defence, the meeting with Ambassador Morrison, an experienced diplomat with knowledge of the Western Balkans, also addressed current political affairs and regional developments.
