The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the Swiss Ambassador, Jürg Sprecher, in a farewell meeting.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Sprecher for the close cooperation and valuable contribution to cultivating excellent relations and strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for the great and continuous support of Switzerland, Prime Minister Kurti mentioned the program of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). In addition to the 86 million Swiss francs allocated for the period 2022–2025, over 64 million Swiss francs have been pledged for Kosovo for the new period 2026–2029. Areas of particular importance were education and vocational training, as well as projects in the water sector, which have significantly helped expand water supply coverage and increase resilience to climate change.
Kosovo is one of the few priority countries in which Switzerland uses all three main instruments: development cooperation, economic cooperation and human security, complemented by the migration partnership.
The meeting discussed the country’s democratic progress, plans to continue this growth, the diaspora and the strong ties between the two countries, the economy and trade, as well as deepening cooperation, with a special focus on the information technology and services sector.
Prime Minister Kurti wished Ambassador Sprecher success in his new commitments and added that he will always be welcome in Kosovo.
