The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, and the Mayor of Kamenica, Kadri Rahimaj, inaugurated the completion of the “Rehabilitation and Asphalting of Regional Road R124 Shipashnicë–Desivojcë–Terstenë” project, an investment worth nearly €3.256 million.
Expressing his satisfaction with the completion of the project, Acting Prime Minister Kurti highlighted the importance of this 10-kilometre regional road for the residents of the area in particular and for the Municipality of Kamenica as a whole.
“It enables faster and easier movement for both citizens and businesses. It is an important road for our compatriots abroad, an important route for businesses and economic development, and it is also significant for tourism in these beautiful areas of the Municipality of Kamenica,” said Acting Prime Minister Kurti.

It is a pleasure to be here today together with the Mayor of Kamenica, Kadri Rahimaj, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, on the occasion of the inauguration of this regional road, R124, which has been rehabilitated and asphalted over a total length of approximately 10 kilometres, with a width of nearly 6 meters, connecting Shipashnicë, Desivojcë and Terstenë.
This project enables faster and easier movement for both citizens and businesses. It is an important road for our compatriots abroad, for businesses and economic development, and it also contributes to tourism in these beautiful areas of the Municipality of Kamenica.
It should also be noted that the economic operator completed the works on this road within 195 working days. The total cost of the project amounted to nearly €3.256 million.
The works included the laying of the BZH 22 base asphalt layer, approximately 7 centimeters thick, followed by the AB 11 wearing course, bringing the total asphalt thickness to 11 centimeters. Road signs and traffic safety infrastructure have also been installed to ensure safe movement for all road users.
