Prishtina, 9 September, 2026

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, last night participated in the opening of the 18th edition of the “PriFest” international film festival.

Prime Minister Kurti said that for six days in a row, from 8th to 13th September, Prishtina will be one of the important points of regional cinema.

“After the world premiere at the “Semaine de la Critique” at the Cannes Film Festival where it was honored with the SACD Prize, the film “Dua” by Blerta Basholli, opened last night the 18th edition of the “PriFest” international film festival in Prishtina,” said Prime Minister Kurti.

This film, along with Visar Morina’s “Shame and Money”, which will also be screened at “PriFest”, and which were subsidized by the QKK, are candidates for the “Oscar” award, proving that local cinematography is already traveling successfully on international stages.

In addition to local films, the 18th edition, which is held this year under the mottos “For Her” and “Forever. Vjosa” dedicated to the late producer, Vjosa Berisha, brings a program built on film competitions and international exchange.
