Acting Prime Minister Kurti took part in the 8th edition of the “Mitrovica Guitar Days” festival

Mitrovica, June 14, 2026

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, took part in the 8th edition of the “Mitrovica Guitar Days” festival, which is being held in Mitrovica and brings together renowned international artists and guitarists.

In his addressing to those present, Acting Prime Minister Kurti said that the “Mitrovica Guitar Days” festival has now become an important meeting point for artists, students and music enthusiasts from Kosovo, the region and beyond.

“The festival was not just a series of concerts. It is an investment in aesthetic education, in the development of young people and in promoting Kosovo as a country that values culture, talent and international cooperation. Every student who participated in the master classes, every contestant who climbed on the stage and every young person who was inspired by these days of music, is part of the success of this festival”, said Acting Prime Minister Kurti.

The Prime Minister assessed that Kosovo needs more such events, because culture and art, as he said, are among our best ambassadors.

Full speech of Acting Prime Minister Kurti:

Honorable organizers of Mitrovica Guitar Days, Erhan Mujka and Anisa Suhodolli,
Honorable Ambassador of Montenegro to Kosovo, Mr. Bernard Çobaj,
Dear citizens and residents of Mitrovica,
Dear art lovers,
Ladies and gentlemen,

Today we are closing another successful edition of the Mitrovica Guitar Days festival, an event that has already become an important meeting point for artists, students and music lovers from Kosovo, the region and beyond.

During these days, Mitrovica has been a home of talent, creativity and cultural exchange. Through the sounds of the guitar, artists from Italy, Slovenia, Turkey, Montenegro, Kosovo and other countries have proven that art is a universal language that unites us beyond the borders and differences.

I would like to express my special gratitude to the organizers, teachers, jury members, volunteers and all those who have contributed to this festival being held with high artistic and professional standards. A special thanks also goes to the invited artists, who shared with us not only their extraordinary performances, but also their experience and knowledge with the new generation of musicians.

The festival was not just a series of concerts. It is an investment in aesthetic education, in the development of young people and in the promotion of Kosovo as a country that values culture, talent and international cooperation. Every student who took part in the master classes, every contestant who climbed on the stage and every young person who was inspired by these days of music, is part of the success of this festival.

Kosovo needs more such events, because culture and art are among our best ambassadors. Through them we build bridges of interaction, create new friendships and present to the world the creative potential of our country.

And tonight, as we conclude this edition, we are not only bringing this festival to an end. We are laying the foundations for future editions, with the conviction that ‘Mitrovica Guitar Days’ will continue to grow and strengthen its position on the European cultural map.

Congratulations to all the winners of the competitions, congratulations to the organizers for their excellent work and thank you to all the participants for making this festival a real success.

I wish our international guests a safe journey and we look forward to welcoming you back to Kosovo.

Thank you and see you at the next edition of “Mitrovica Guitar Days”.
