Prime Minister Albin Kurti meets NATO Director for Operations, Charlotte Hallengren

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the NATO Director for Operations, Charlotte Hallengren.

Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for NATO’s engagement in peace, security, and stability, as well as for the important role of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT) for the Ministry of Defence, as a key liaison and advisory body of the North Atlantic Alliance in the Republic of Kosovo.

In the context of deepening cooperation, Prime Minister Kurti spoke about opportunities for members of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to pursue military, educational, and professional training in NATO institutions. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacities of the KSF in line with NATO standards.

Prime Minister Kurti stated that the Kosovo Security Force has demonstrated high performance in international missions, including joint deployments in Kuwait, Belize, and the Falkland Islands, as well as the mission in Türkiye.
He added that it is currently preparing for a mission in Gaza, as part of an International Stabilization Force. He also mentioned training provided for Ukrainian personnel in demining and search-and-rescue missions.

He emphasized that Kosovo is determined, engaged, and committed to its path toward integration into NATO.
