Prishtina, 7 July 2025
Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.
The discussion focused on the European integration process and the cooperation between Kosovo and the EU. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s full commitment to the path of EU integration and its engagement in implementing necessary reforms.
Regarding the current political developments in the country and in response to Ambassador Orav’s interest, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of concluding the steps for the constitution of the Assembly, as a prerequisite for the formation of new institutions following the 9 February elections, and the continuation of the legislative work, including the adoption of key international agreements for Kosovo’s EU integration, such as the one related to the Growth Plan.
They also discussed the importance of regional cooperation and the EU’s role, as a follow-up to last week’s Western Balkans Leaders’ Summit on the EU Growth Plan held in Skopje.
The security situation was another topic of discussion. The Prime Minister praised the work and dedication of Kosovo’s security institutions in addressing threats coming from unfriendly states.
