The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Ömer Bolat, in a meeting.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the excellent relations between the two countries and thanked Minister Bolat for the great and continuous support of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Kosovo.
While expressing the will and readiness to further deepen cooperation, Prime Minister Kurti said that in the last decade, trade exchanges between the two countries have doubled, with the fastest growth after the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement.
The two discussed the possibilities of expanding the Free Trade Agreement to services, including professional services, information technology, transport and logistics, as well as financial services. In this context, Prime Minister Kurti mentioned the extraordinary potential of the Republic of Kosovo for the export of services.
Prime Minister Kurti stressed that he would be happy for the second Kosovo-Turkey Economic Forum, after the one in Istanbul in 2024, to be held in Pristina this year, as a concrete next step, deepening and expanding economic and trade cooperation. Meanwhile, the activation of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee was also discussed.
With the aim of global and economic connectivity, Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the goals of opening a new airline between Kosovo and the United States of America, with the assistance of the Republic of Turkey.
After emphasizing the close cooperation in the field of security and defense, Prime Minister Kurti conveyed his gratitude and thanks to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his commitment and special international support for Kosovo.
