Pristina, 9 October, 2026
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the Ambassador of Hungary, László István Dux, from whom he received congratulations on the election of the President.
Expressing gratitude for Hungary’s engagement in Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that, beyond integration processes, Hungary plays a significant role in regional peace and security, particularly as one of the largest troop contributors to KFOR.
In addition to current affairs, the meeting addressed bilateral relations and opportunities to expand and deepen economic and trade cooperation through joint initiatives capable of strengthening business ties and creating investment opportunities.
The number of Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships for students from Kosovo—covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels—has risen to 75 per year, with hundreds of students having studied or currently studying at Hungarian universities.
Currently, the Republic of Kosovo’s chief negotiator with the European Union, Jeton Zulfaj, is on an official visit to Budapest, where he is scheduled to meet with senior officials of the Hungarian Government.
