Pristina, 19 October, 2026
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received a congratulatory letter regarding his new term from the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Bart De Wever.
“Political contacts between our two governments have increased in recent years; following our meeting in New York last September, you welcomed my Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Prévot, to Pristina in April of this year. These exchanges reflect the excellent relations between our two countries,” wrote Prime Minister De Wever.
Appreciating the current cooperation, Prime Minister De Wever expressed his willingness to expand it, also mentioning the role of the diaspora.
“Please allow me to acknowledge the excellent cooperation between our two countries in the fields of policing and the judiciary, as well as our joint efforts to combat organized crime—an issue of major concern for both Belgium and Kosovo. I hope that we will have the opportunity to further expand our cooperation into other areas, including defense and the penitentiary system, while also deepening our economic ties—specifically by building upon the strong human connections forged by the diaspora,” he continued.
