The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has received a congratulatory letter from U.S. Congressman George Latimer regarding the constitution of the Assembly, the formation of the Government, and his new term as Prime Minister.
“As you begin your fourth term as Prime Minister, I look forward to working closely with you and your colleagues to advance the shared values of our two nations, including democracy, the rule of law, and economic prosperity,” wrote Congressman Latimer.
In his letter, Congressman Latimer emphasized the importance of cross-party cooperation in electing the new President, thereby avoiding new elections.
“I encourage all political parties in Kosovo to return to the negotiating table to reach an agreement on the new President, so as to avoid another costly cycle of parliamentary elections. As the experience of the United States demonstrates, open dialogue and cooperation between parties on matters of national interest are essential for the progress of a democratic society,” he wrote.
