Prishtina, 9 October 2026
Last evening, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended a reception organised on the eve of the 15th edition of the KosICT conference, which is taking place today and tomorrow in Prishtina.
Saying that it was a pleasure to be among representatives of STIKK and the information technology community, as well as entrepreneurs and international partners, Prime Minister Kurti noted that the conference had become a meeting place for ideas and talent, innovation and partnerships, connecting Kosovo with the world.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasised that Kosovo’s technology companies are developing and providing solutions for international markets, demonstrating that our greatest assets are the talent, creativity and determination of our people.
“Today, the ICT sector is one of the most dynamic and export-oriented sectors of our economy. Exports of ICT services have increased more than fivefold over the past five years. As a Government, we are committed to building on this momentum by continuing to invest in digital infrastructure, modernizing public services, strengthening digital education, and creating better conditions for innovation and entrepreneurship,” the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Kurti noted that artificial intelligence was opening a new chapter, presenting Kosovo with an opportunity not only to adopt new technologies but also to develop solutions quickly and compete in global markets.
Full speech by Prime Minister Kurti:
Dear representatives of STIKK and the KosICT community,
Dear colleagues from the Government, Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, and Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila,
Dear Vjollca and Astrit,
Dear entrepreneurs, innovators and international partners,
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is a pleasure to join you this evening, as we prepare for another edition of KosICT.
Over the past editions, KosICT has grown into much more than a technology conference. It has become a meeting place for ideas, talent, innovation, and collaborations, connecting Kosova’s tech community with the world. Our tech companies are developing solutions for international markets, and demonstrating that our greatest resource is the talent, creativity, and determination of our people.
Today, the ICT sector is among the most dynamic and export-oriented sectors of our economy. ICT service exports have grown over five times over the past five years.
As Government, we are committed to building on this momentum by continuing to invest in digital infrastructure, modernizing public services, strengthening digital education, and creating better conditions for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Artificial intelligence is now opening a new chapter. It presents an opportunity for Kosova not only to adopt new technologies, but also to develop fast solutions, create greater value, and compete in emerging global markets.
Our ambition should be to build on the success of Kosova’s technology sector, developing evermore innovative products, creating higher-value jobs, and strengthening our position in the world. Achieving this ambition requires strong cooperation between government, businesses, universities, and diaspora, and international partners alike.
Congratulations to STIKK and everyone behind KosICT. I wish you an inspiring and successful conference.
Thank you, and enjoy this evening!
