The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the heads of state, the President of the country, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic, Albulena Haxhiu, accompanied by the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari and members of the government cabinet, participated in the Flag Raising Ceremony of the Republic of Kosovo, in marking the 18th anniversary of Independence Day.
In his statement to the media, Prime Minister Kurti said:
Kosovo is growing. The number of years of independence is increasing. The number of recognitions of statehood is increasing. The country’s economy is growing. The well-being of citizens is increasing. The power of the state is increasing. 18 years ago, the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo was born, but it was born mature, since many generations of activists, our entire people with countless generations have contributed and sacrificed so that we can be free and independent, to have a democratic and sovereign state. Today we celebrate, but at the same time we honor the peaceful resistance, the armed uprisings, which culminated in the just war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
