Prime Minister Thaçi hosts the new Dutch ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Voskamb: the government of the Republic of Kosovo is looking forward to welcoming Dutch investors and businesses to Kosovo

The Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, today met with the new Dutch ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Henk Voskamb.

Prime Minister Thaçi thanked the Dutch ambassador for the recognition of the independence of Kosovo and for the political, military and economic contribution to Kosovo given by the Netherlands as an important part of the international community.

Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi expressed the readiness of the Republic of Kosovo for the intensification of close bilateral relations with the Netherlands in areas of common interest.

The government of the Republic of Kosovo is looking forward to welcoming Dutch investors and businesses to Kosovo, stressed Prime Minister Thaçi in the meeting.

In the meeting with the Dutch ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Prime Minister Thaçi also explained the necessity of the European Union talking with one voice on Kosovo, particularly in connection with Serbia’s initiative in the UN.

For his part, the Dutch ambassador to Kosovo, Mr Henk Voskamb, conveyed messages of support for the Republic of Kosovo from the Dutch Government.

“The Dutch government will support Kosovo developmentally, particularly in the strengthening of the private sector. We will also help in the important process of Kosovo’s integration into international institutions, particularly in relation to European integration,” said ambassador Voskamb.

In the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, the Dutch ambassador also promised support in the field of education, giving bursaries for postgraduate studies for students from the Republic of Kosovo, and offering support for training of Kosovan civil servants by Dutch experts.
