Prime Minister Kurti paid tribute to the Memorial in Izbica

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, and accompanied by members of the Assembly paid tribute to the village of Izbicë in the Municipality of Skenderaj, where the fascist and genocidal regime of Milosevic killed 147 Albanians, 6 of whom are still missing.

Next to the Memorial of those killed, Prime Minister Kurti said that this massacre is included in the indictments of six senior political, police and military leaders of Serbia and is evidence of the genocide of Serbia.
“They were abducted as people, as Albanians, and then after the shooting, their bodies were also abducted, sent to Serbia and finally exhumed from there, but not all of them since it is still unknown where they are, in Petrovo Sello and they brought them here, to their homeland, to their hometown”, said Prime Minister Kurti.

He said that we will never forget the genocide of Serbia and that we will commit ourselves forever and continuously as institutions and as citizens for justice, for the victims and their families.

Prime Minister Kurti also remembered Mustafa Dragaj, a survivor of the massacre, who testified against Slobodan Milosevic at the Hague Tribunal.

Together with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, we are here today to honor and commemorate those killed by the fascist and genocidal regime of Milosevic in Izbica, 147 in total, 6 are still not found.

As the President also said, they were kidnapped as people, as living Albanians, and then after the shooting, their corpses were also kidnapped, sent to Serbia and finally exhumed from there, but not all of them since it is not yet known that where they are in Petrovo Sello, and they brought them here, to their homeland, to their birthplace.

Today is a day when we also honor the memory of Mustafa Dragaj, survivor of the massacre, who testified against Slobodan Milosevic at the Hague Tribunal and who unfortunately passed away in September last year.

The massacre of Izbica is included in the indictments of the six high political, police and military leaders of Serbia and is evidence of the genocide of Serbia, which we never forget and for justice, for the victims and families, who are also victims and all the people, we will be committed forever, continuously both as institutions and as citizens.
