Acting Prime Minister Kurti met with the World Economic Forum’s “Young Global Leaders” delegation

Pristina, 12 September, 2026

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met this afternoon with the World Economic Forum’s “Young Global Leaders” delegation; the members represent 16 different countries and bring extensive experience across various fields, such as human rights, technology, and others.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Kurti presented an overview of Kosovo’s development—including economic growth (which has increased sixfold since 1999 and threefold since 2008), the reduction in unemployment, and the country’s orientation toward the European Union. In this context, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that the integration process is just as important as membership itself.

The Prime Minister also spoke about sectors in Kosovo that are growing and hold great potential—such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), wood processing, and metal processing—as well as projects planned for the next four years, including railways, the Mediterranean Games, investments in the Brezovica ski resort, the green transition, and mining and minerals. Furthermore, an open discussion addressed the strengthening of the rule of law and security, NATO membership, and the alignment of Kosovo’s foreign policy with that of the European Union.
