As part of the activities marking 26 July, the Memorial Day for Police Officers Fallen in the Line of Duty, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the family of the Hero of Kosovo, Enver Zymberi.
Following the visit in Vushtrri, Acting Prime Minister Kurti stopped in the village of Varage in the Municipality of Zubin Potok, where he paid tribute and laid flowers at the memorial erected at the site where the Hero of Kosovo, Enver Zymberi, fell.
Enver Zymberi, a police officer of the Kosovo Police Special Unit, fell heroically in the line of duty on 26 July 2011, during an operation to uphold the rule of law, state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“It is both our honour and our obligation to take them as an example, all of us who are state officials, for their sacrifice and selflessness. Today, the situation here in the north of Kosovo is completely different, precisely thanks to Enver Zymberi, Afrim Bunjaku and all their colleagues, who established the rule of law, peace and security for everyone without distinction,” the Prime Minister stressed.
On 26 July 2023, the Kosovo Police Special Units Camp in Mitrovica was named after the Hero Enver Zymberi.

Glory to all police officers who fell in the line of duty. It is both our honour and our obligation to take them as an example, all of us who are state officials, for their sacrifice and selflessness.
Today, the situation here in the north of Kosovo is completely different, precisely thanks to Enver Zymberi, Afrim Bunjaku and all their colleagues, who established the rule of law, peace and security for everyone without distinction.
Today marks the 15th anniversary of the heroic fall of Enver Zymberi, while at the same time these days we are also marking the 20th month since the explosion at the Iber-Lepenc Canal, which supplies water to more than half of our Republic, as well as to the power plants in Obiliq, which supply us with electricity.
Regarding the latter case, as we know, three individuals are in prison and justice proceedings are underway against them. As for those who gave the orders and the criminal hand that killed the Hero of Kosovo, Enver Zymberi, sooner or later justice will take its course, because no criminal will be allowed to remain unpunished. Therefore, our prosecution and judiciary have our support, and they also have their duty.
Once again, today, on the Memorial Day of Police Officers Fallen in the Line of Duty, glory to Enver Zymberi, Afrim Bunjaku and all police officers who fell in the line of duty.
