The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, visited the construction works of the ammunition factory in Jahoc, Gjakova.
The defense industry of the Republic of Kosovo will start with the production of 5.56mm and 7.62mm caliber cartridges. Meanwhile, in later stages it will also advance with “Made in Kosovo” drones.
The factory, which is being built, is part of an area of 19 hectares within the 140 hectares for the defense industry in Gjakova, allocated by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
As a continuation of the work that includes multiplying the defense budget, more than 1 billion euros are foreseen in the next four years for strengthening, modern equipment and advanced training for the KSF.
