Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the Director of the Prishtina International Theater Festival “Burbuqe Berisha”, Zijad Mehić, together with the Director of Art Image, Ilir Bytyqi, and the coordinator Valentina Cenaj.
During the meeting, preparations for this year’s edition of the festival were discussed. The festival will be held from 18 to 24 May in Prishtina, with participation from countries of the region and beyond. The importance of this event for the development of theatre, the promotion of culture, and the strengthening of artistic cooperation among countries in the region was emphasized.
This year marks an important milestone for the festival—its 10th anniversary—further consolidating it as one of the most significant cultural events in the country and the region.
The Prime Minister praised the contribution of the organizers in building a platform that not only brings together artists and theatre professionals from the region, but also creates bridges of cooperation that connect the region with the international stage.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that such festivals are a testament to the power of culture to transcend borders, foster dialogue, and strengthen ties among societies—first within the region and then with the wider world.
