The Acting First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, held a working meeting with the European Union Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sørensen.
Together, they discussed the way forward towards the full implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Implementation Annex.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi also underlined that the issue of persons forcibly disappeared must be addressed with urgency and due attention, so that the work of the Joint Commission can begin, given that an agreement on it was reached in December last year.
He further stressed that the problem of blocking the distribution of funds for farmers in the Presheva Valley, which has been obstructed by Serbia and which it refused to address during the last meeting in Brussels last month, must also be treated as a matter of urgency, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He also spoke about the damage Serbia continues to cause to Kosovo year after year by blocking interconnection lines, which increases transmission costs for electricity not only in Kosovo but across the region.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized the importance and necessity of the complete and swift removal of the European Union’s measures against Kosovo.
