Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi was welcomed by Germany’s Minister of State for Europe, Gunther Krichbaum

On the second day of his official visit to Berlin, the Acting First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, was welcomed by Germany’s Minister of State for Europe, Gunther Krichbaum.

The Deputy Prime Minister informed Minister Krichbaum about Kosovo’s economic performance and democratic progress. He highlighted economic growth, the reduction of unemployment, increased productivity, as well as the rule of law and the fight against corruption.

Regarding the European integration process, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of receiving the questionnaire and obtaining candidate country status, which opens the way for closer cooperation and alignment with the EU and for advancing Kosovo’s European perspective. He added that EU integration remains Kosovo’s strategic orientation and key aspiration, while public support for EU membership continues to be the highest in the region. Alongside advancing Kosovo’s EU path, the Deputy Prime Minister also stressed the importance of completing the process of membership in the Council of Europe.

The meeting also discussed the current situation in Kosovo, developments in the region, and the dialogue process. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked Minister Krichbaum for Germany’s continued support and assistance to Kosovo. Present at the meeting was also the Ambassador of Kosovo to Germany, Faruk Ajeti.
