Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi participated in the panel discussion titled “More Europe for a Stronger Europe?” organized in Aachen, Germany

The First Deputy Prime Minister in Office of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, is participating in the events being organized within the framework of the International Charlemagne Prize in Aachen, where he was a speaker at the panel titled “More Europe for a Stronger Europe?”.

During his address and the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that Kosovo remains committed to its path towards integration into the European Union as a strategic orientation where it also enjoys broad citizen support in this process, while we have applied in December 2022 for the status of candidate country.

He emphasized that our country deserves that the application be treated seriously and on a meritocratic basis by the European Union and that concrete steps be taken in this direction, when 9 years have already passed since the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

He also spoke about the government’s achievements in implementing reforms and approximation with European standards, the alignment of Kosovo with the EU’s foreign policy, the work carried out in relation to the Growth Plan, as well as the economic development and progress in democratic indicators that the country has recognized, as evidenced by various international measurements.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi underlined the importance of EU enlargement and the need for a clear path towards membership for countries that aim to become part of the European family.

As part of his stay in Aachen, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi will also participate in the ceremony where the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will be awarded the international Charlemagne 2025 prize.
