Prishtina, 16 July 2025
The Acting First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed members of the German Bundestag, Tilman Kuban and David Preisendanz, in a meeting.
The strengthening of bilateral cooperation and Kosovo’s path toward European integration were at the center of the discussion. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized the country’s aspirations on its European integration journey and its aim to obtain candidate status for European Union membership, following Kosovo’s application for membership in December 2022 during the Czech Presidency of the EU Council.
He also informed the Bundestag members about Kosovo’s commitment to implementing reforms within the framework of the Growth Plan, noting that just yesterday, the semi-annual report for the first half of this year under this program was submitted to the European Union.
In light of strengthening relations between the two countries, discussions also touched on the potential for deepening cooperation in areas and sectors of mutual interest.
The meeting also addressed the current political developments in the country and the situation in the region. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the Bundestag members for the meeting, the discussion, and Germany’s continuous support for the Republic of Kosovo.
