Laying of the Foundation Stone for the Construction of the Eastern Stands at the “Zahir Pajaziti” Stadium

Podujeva, 11 December 2025

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, attended the ceremony marking the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the eastern stands at the “Zahir Pajaziti” Stadium.

This investment, valued at nearly 2 million euros, includes not only the construction of the eastern stands with new seating, but also the roofing of the western, northern and southern stands, as well as full pitch lighting, thereby enabling matches to be played in the evening.

In his statement, Prime Minister Kurti noted that “Llapi” Football Club has a long tradition, having been founded in 1932, and that great football stars have emerged from here, among them Fadil Vokrri and Fevzi Rama. “Therefore, apart from being our obligation, I believe it is extremely beneficial, because investing in sports—especially in football and in this stadium here in Podujeva—will encourage, discover and nurture new talents who, in the years ahead, will naturally raise even higher the level of our country’s football and sport in general,” he said.

He further emphasized that these investments will transform the “Zahir Pajaziti” Stadium into a stadium that meets UEFA criteria, which, naturally, will provide an additional boost for even greater successes.

Full speech by Prime Minister Kurti:

We are here together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva, Professor Shpejtim Bulliqi, and the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, as well as other colleagues from the Government and the Assembly, on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the eastern stands at the “Zahir Pajaziti” Stadium here in Llap, where Football Club “Llapi” plays.

“Llapi” Football Club has a long tradition, founded in 1932—so in just a short time this club will turn 100 years old—and we owe it a lot, because star footballers have come from here, including, in our more recent history that we ourselves remember, Fadil Vokrri and Fevzi Rama. Therefore, apart from being our obligation, I believe it is extremely beneficial, because investing in sports, especially in football and in this stadium here in Podujeva, will encourage, discover and nurture new talents who, in the coming years, will naturally lift the football of our country—and sport in general—higher and higher.

As you can see here, there are already three stands—west, north and south—and the laying of the foundation stone for the eastern stands essentially completes this stadium. When we add the planned roofing all around, as well as lighting that meets international standards, it will transform the “Zahir Pajaziti” Stadium into a stadium built according to UEFA criteria, which will naturally serve as an additional boost for even greater success.

Congratulations to “Llapi” Football Club and to all the people of Llap, as well as all football and sports enthusiasts.
