The text of the note says:
Your Excellency, President Obama,
The Independence Day of the United States of America is one of the most important historical and political event in the history of humanity marking the establishment of the state which, 235 years from now, became the symbol of freedom, democracy and of universal values.
This day has been an inspiration for people and nations, political movements and great events throughout the world in order to attain the dreams and the ideals of freedom in creating free and emancipated countries, societies and nations.
The United States of America have played a historic role in protecting the Albanian nation in general, and in particular in supporting Kosovo during the years of 1998, 1999 which were crowned with the liberation of Kosovo and opening a new perspective.
The life of freedom and the building of the new institutions of Kosovo, with the continuous support from the United States of America and other friend countries, have made it possible for our country to attain the greatest dream in history, the Independence of Kosovo, on February 17, 2008.
The institutions and the people of Kosovo are eternally grateful to the United States of America and to the American people for the extraordinary contribution for the liberalization of Kosovo in supporting and building the new and democratic institutions.
Kosovo and its institutions are supporters of the United States of America and greatly appreciate their contribution in preserving peace, creating stability and disseminating global values throughout the world.
