Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Liza Gashi and Kosovo’s Ambassador to the United States, Ilir Dugolli, met on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. with Congressman James McGovern of the Democratic Party.
They discussed recent developments in Kosovo. On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti informed Congressman McGovern about the country’s progress and the decisions of the Government of Kosovo regarding the acceptance and temporary relocation of third-country nationals from the United States, the removal of customs tariffs on all products originating from the U.S., as well as the continuation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact program for Kosovo under the new U.S. administration.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Congressman McGovern for his tireless commitment in seeking justice for the Bytyqi brothers, as well as for his continued support in advancing Kosovo–U.S. relations.
During the conversation, both agreed to work together on strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on increasing business investment and creating new opportunities for economic development.
