Prishtina, 31 December 2025
The Caretaker Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, visited the Post of Kosovo on the final day of the year.
Following a meeting with the CEO of the Post, Nora Rraci, and the Post Board, Prime Minister Kurti told the media that the Post of Kosovo is closing this year with approximately one million euros in profit, compared with around 300 thousand euros last year.
“The Post of Kosovo employs around 850 people, more than half of whom work as postal carriers or counter staff, and it is also noteworthy that the network of post offices and postal services is expanding. Altogether, there are 166 offices in Kosovo, 16 of which are located north of the Ibar River”, the Prime Minister said.
He added, “Financial flows have been interrupted, and illegal structures dismantled. Neither the Serbian Post nor the Serbian postal savings system operates in Kosovo anymore; the dinar is no longer a means of payment. There has been no service gap, because the Post of Kosovo has been present to provide all services that some feared might be missing when the illegal operations of the past were terminated.”
Expressing gratitude to all employees serving throughout Kosovo’s municipalities, the Prime Minister added that the Post of Kosovo is a universal public service that is fast, secure and affordable.
The Caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, provided a financial overview, noting that since its separation from the Post and Telecom of Kosovo in 2012, the Post had consistently operated at a loss, reaching up to 4 million euros per year, and had accumulated over 24 million euros in losses. Over the past two years, however, the Post has achieved approximately 1.3 million euros in profit, which is expected to increase in the coming years.
The Chief Executive Officer, Nora Rraci, emphasized that the Post of Kosovo has successfully invested 1.6 million euros in operational equipment and logistics infrastructure. New motorcycles and vans have been purchased, while new cars are pending delivery; these will enhance logistics efficiency and ensure dignified working conditions for the Post’s couriers.
Full statement by Prime Minister Kurti:
Hounourable journalists and distinguished guests,
Thank you very much for joining us this morning during our visit as the Caretaker Government, myself as Prime Minister and Ms Artane, as Minister of Economy, to the Post of Kosovo. During our visit, we held an open and extensive discussion about the achievements of this public enterprise, which is closing this year with approximately €1 million in profit, compared with nearly 300 thousand Euro last year.
The Post of Kosovo employs around 850 people, more than half of whom work as postal carriers or counter staff, and it is also noteworthy that the network of post offices and postal services is expanding. Altogether, there are 166 offices in Kosovo, 16 of which are located north of the Ibar River.
Financial flows have been interrupted, and illegal structures dismantled. Neither the Serbian Post nor the Serbian postal savings system operates in Kosovo anymore; the dinar is no longer a means of payment. There has been no service gap, because the Post of Kosovo has been present to provide all services that some feared might be missing when the illegal operations of the past were terminated.
I would like to extend my congratulations to the management, the Board, and all employees of the Post of Kosovo for these achievements.
It is also important to highlight that Post of Kosovo is a universal public service that is fast, secure and affordable. Its success is measured not by cost, but by the benefit it brings to citizens.
I therefore express my gratitude to all employees who work tirelessly, day and night, across all municipalities of Kosovo, including the most remote villages, ensuring that no one in our Republic feels neglected or marginalized, and so that we can all be equal citizens, as guaranteed by the constitution of a democratic state.
Once again, thank you all, and I wish everyone a joyful 2026!
Closing remarks following the statements of Chief Executive Officer, Nora Rraci, and Minister Rizvanolli:
I wish to once again thank the Caretaker Minister, Artane Rizvanolli, the Chief Executive Officer, Nora Rraci, the Chairman of the Board, Gëzim Paci, the entire Board, the management and all employees of Post of Kosovo for this outstanding performance, which fills us with renewed hope and optimism for 2026.
