Fushë Kosovë, 7 October 2025
The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, and the Acting Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, together with the Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Water Company “Prishtina,” Arsim Fetahu, attended the inauguration of the water supply network for the villages of Lismir, Bardh i Madh, and Sllatinë of Fushë Kosova.
This is a major investment that will directly benefit over 15,000 residents of the municipality. The water originates from the Ujman Lake, is treated at the Shkabaj water plant, and distributed to the residents’ households.
The project stands as proof of institutional cooperation among the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Local Government Administration, the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, and the Regional Water Company “Prishtina.”
In the village of Lismir, the Prime Minister stated that this was a joyful day for everyone, emphasizing that by bringing water to the residents of this village, a longstanding injustice lasting a quarter of a century was being corrected, while also fulfilling a fundamental human right that enables a more dignified standard of living. With the new fountain and reservoir in Lismir, a sustainable supply of clean water is now ensured for hundreds of families.
After Lismir, the Prime Minister visited the village of Bardh i Madh, which has also become part of the new water supply network. There, he thanked everyone involved in making the inauguration possible and expressed his gratitude to the residents for their warm hospitality.
From Bardh i Madh, he continued to Sllatinë, where a new reservoir was inaugurated, guaranteeing sufficient water pressure and a stable water supply for the residents of the area. He congratulated both the residents and the institutions for their effective and fruitful cooperation in implementing this long-awaited project and meeting a basic human need.
Expressing his gratitude for the hospitality, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Government will always stand by its citizens through projects that stem from their needs and demands. He added that this inauguration marks the completion of an important phase of the water supply project in this region, while construction works have already been completed and connections will soon be made for the villages of Graboc, Mesbardh, and Bardh i Vogël, which will benefit from the same reservoir.
