Full Speech of Prime Minister Kurti:
Honourable educators,
Honourable parents,
Dear children,
Honourable Mayor of Shtime, Dr. Qemajl Aliu,
Honourable Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci,
Honourable municipal directors, assembly members and other officials,
Brothers and sisters,
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is a pleasure to meet here in Godanc, Shtime, in this municipality where services and projects have been fundamentally improved from what they once were.
It is a great pleasure to inaugurate together this new, modern, and beautiful kindergarten, which fulfills a long-standing need of the residents of this area. At the same time, this kindergarten is concrete proof of the change that has taken place in Shtime.
The investment amounts to 414,000 euros, covering an area of 756 square meters, with 5 fully equipped classrooms, including everything necessary for early education and the full well-being of children. This kindergarten also includes health facilities, activity spaces, a laundry, and all other essentials. It provides 72 beds for all age groups of children, meaning that 72 families will receive significant support in raising and caring for their children.
This is the sixth kindergarten in the municipality of Shtime, and the fifth built during the mandate of Mayor Dr. Qemajl Aliu. This reflects the high standard and the great work being done here, also in cooperation with the central government. In practice, we have implemented our program with our values, focusing on the greatest needs—mothers and children. This is a social-democratic program that respects the dignity and rights of all our citizens, and especially those with the greatest needs and demands.
The kindergarten is the first educational institution, the place where children begin to learn, socialize with their peers, and prepare for the life ahead. This is therefore an investment at the very foundation of the state and society, for the future of our country and our people, because the Kosovo we are building is precisely a Kosovo for the future, where children represent both the present and the future of our state.
Thus, this fulfilled promise provides new opportunities for dozens of families and hundreds of parents to share responsibilities with institutions, while at the same time giving them the possibility to professionalize and develop their skills. Meanwhile, their children, in addition to learning here, will be healthy and safe, surrounded by care and love, and prepared for the next stages of their intellectual growth as well as their professional preparation that will come with further education.
Together with Mayor Qemajl Aliu and Minister Arbërie Nagavci, we were here on October 20, 2023, when we laid the foundation stone. Now, two years minus 18 days later, we are inaugurating the successful completion of a project built to high standards and with modern conditions.
Congratulations and best wishes to everyone!
