The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Acting Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, visited Gjilan today on the occasion of the commencement of construction works at the City Stadium. They were welcomed on site by the Mayor of the Municipality, Alban Hyseni.
Observing the start of construction works by the contracted company, Prime Minister Kurti said this is good news for the Municipality of Gjilan, for the city’s two football clubs, Gjilani and Drita, for the fans, and for all sports enthusiasts.
The construction works, which began today, are expected to be completed within two years. The project is valued at approximately €12.8 million. The stadium will have a capacity of 8,750 seats.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti congratulated and commended the citizens on the beginning of construction and operationalization of the Gjilan Stadium.
Representatives of FC Drita and FC Gjilani were also present at this important event, along with colleagues from the Government and the Assembly of Kosovo.
