The message of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi on the third anniversary of Constitution Day of the Republic of Kosovo stated:
Constitution Day of the Republic of Kosovo, 9 April, is one of the most important days in the official holiday calendar of the Republic of Kosovo.
This day, is celebrated by all Kosovo’s citizens with just pride because this high legal document is the culmination of centuries of struggle in Kosovo to become an entity equal with other free and sovereign nations.
Constitution Day is an important political event, because Kosovo for the first time sanctioned the democratic will of its citizens, expressing individual and social rights and obligations with the highest democratic spirit.
The Constitution of Kosovo expresses best the existence of Kosovo’s citizens as free citizens and Kosovo as an independent state and we are all proud that it is one of the most advanced and modern documents in the region and beyond.
The third anniversary of the Constitution, like the third anniversary of independence, are dates of the founding of freedom, the expansion of democracy, the growth of tolerance, emancipation and the general development of our society.
Kosovo’s citizens observe the third anniversary of Constitution Day with a clear Euro-Atlantic perspective, continuing recognition of our country’s independence and creating conditions for improving the welfare of all our citizens.
