The acting Government of the Republic of Kosovo held a regular meeting today, in which it:
Allocated 150 thousand euros for the implementation of projects through agreements with the bodies of the United Nations Organization
Approved the request to add measure 3.8 – Student Mobility Scholarship to the Economic Recovery Package. According to this measure, students with incomes below the average income in Kosovo will benefit from a mobility scholarship that will be calculated in relation to the distance of the students’ residence from the university. The value of this measure reaches the amount of 20 million euros;
Approved the decision for one-time financial support in the amount of 100 euros for all students who meet the criteria, so that they and their families can more easily cope with the costs associated with the start of the new academic year. The total value of this support is 6 million euros;
Approved the final decision on the expropriation in the public interest of immovable properties affected by the implementation of the project: Solid Waste Management 11-1V, New Sanitary Landfill, Cadastral Zone Lutogllavë, Municipality of Peja. The Peja Landfill and other landfills included in the 45 million euro project, which we are jointly financing with the European Union and KfW, are part of the largest investments being made in the waste sector in Kosovo;
Approved the preliminary decision on the expropriation in the public interest of immovable properties necessary for the implementation of the Infrastructure Project of Public Interest, “Construction of the Bridge over the Ibar River” connecting North Mitrovica and South Mitrovica. With the approval of the preliminary decision, the legality of the process of expropriation of immovable properties, which are necessary for the implementation of the accompanying infrastructure within the framework of the project “Construction of the Bridge over the Ibar River” is confirmed;
Approved the decision for the further review of the request for expropriation in the public interest of immovable properties affected by the implementation of the Project: Construction of the connection of Viti to the “Arbër Xhaferi” Highway (Prishtina-Hani i Elezit). This project reaches a value of nearly 3 million euros and as an infrastructure project enables faster circulation in the local economy and equal connection with the rest of the country.
Allocated 1 million euros for food vouchers for families in need within the framework of the implementation of the Economic Recovery Package;
Approved the Program for the Protection of Vulnerable Electricity Consumers. The main purpose of this Program is to provide direct support to vulnerable consumers in the electricity sector. Families that have benefited from the program in the last year do not need to re-apply unless they have changed their place of residence and electricity meter. The program in question supports vulnerable families with an average income of less than 150 euros/month/member, and who have real estate worth less than 100,000 euros. The subsidy is applied to bills for the period October-March, and is paid directly to the consumer’s account, after the meter reading – that is, in the following month. Instructions and details regarding new applications and/or meter changes will be provided in the coming days;
Allocated an additional 2.5 million euros for the subsidy of textbooks and teaching materials for the academic year 2025/2026;
Allocated 50 thousand euros for the implementation of the project for the Integration of Cultural Heritage in Spatial Planning, through agreements with the bodies of the United Nations Organization;
