Prishtina, 1 August 2025
The acting Government of the Republic of Kosovo held a regular meeting today in which it:
- Reallocated 587,569 euros for five capital projects for the municipalities of Vushtrri, Gjilan, Junik, Zubin Potok and Rahovec within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding for the co-financing of projects signed by the Ministry of Regional Development and the mayors of these municipalities;
- Appointed the Statistical Council in the following composition:
o Avni Kastrati – Executive Director of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics;
o Blerta Kika – Representative of the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers;
o Valbone Dushi – Representative of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade;
o Enver Mekolli – Representative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation;
o Merita Berisha – Representative of the Ministry of Health;
o Vedat Sagonjeva – Representative of the Office for Strategic Planning, OPM;
o Edona Sekiraqa – Representative of the Central Bank;
o Agron Hamiti – Representative of the Tax Administration of Kosovo;
o Flaka Azemi – Representative of the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers;
o Adelina Maksuti – Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development;
o Ardiana Gashi – Representative of the University.
- Appointed Hysen Muzliukaj to the position of General Director of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration with a four-year mandate;
- Appointed Shemsi Duriqi to the position of Executive Director of the Kosovo Forensic Agency with a four-year mandate;
- Suspended from the civil service Besim Kamberaj, Secretary General of the Ministry of Regional Development, against whom an indictment has been filed for criminal proceedings for committing a criminal offense during the exercise of his official functions. The suspension from duty of a civil servant of the senior management category in state administration institutions in the event of an indictment being filed is a legal obligation of the government;
- Approved four capital projects of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as multi-year projects, according to the Law on Budgetary Allocations for the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo, for the year 2025, as follows:
o Renovation of the National Library of Kosovo;
o Dresnik Archaeological Site Project;
o Renovation of the Kosovo State Archives Building; and
o Renovation of the Podujeva Stadium.
These projects are an integral part of the strategic development plan of this ministry and are of particular importance for strengthening cultural infrastructure, historical and sports heritage, and directly contribute to economic development, promoting national identity, improving the quality of life of local communities and increasing citizen participation in cultural and sports activities; - Allocated 178,730 euros to the municipality of Podujeva and 117,758.24 euros to the municipality of Shtime for improving wastewater management in these two municipalities;
- Approved the Official Statistics Report for 2024
- Reallocated 3 million euros for 28 new capital projects based on the memorandums of understanding signed between the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure and the municipalities. These projects contribute to the improvement of road infrastructure in the municipalities of: Kamenicë, Shtime, Prizren, Gjilan, Podujevë, Deçan, Kllokot, Mitrovica e jugut, Klina, Istog, Suhareka, Mitrovica e nortuit, Graçanicë, Rahovec, Vushtrri and Mamusha;
- Allocated 40,000 euros in support for the families of two firefighters, Sefadin Osmanaj and Kaqun Lima, who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2024 and 2025, respectively. With this decision, the government supports the Osmanaj family with 20 thousand euros and the Lima family with 20 thousand euros.
