263rd Meeting of the Government

The Acting Government of the Republic of Kosovo held its 263rd meeting, during which it:

  • Allocated €4,000,000 to cover insurance policies for our diaspora. According to this decision, starting from July 1, all compatriots traveling to Kosovo with passenger vehicles will be able to obtain a free insurance policy at any of the entry border points. The subsidized policy applies to non-commercial passenger vehicles with up to 9 seats.
  • Allocated €626,400 to support education and institutional advocacy for Albanians in Preshevo, Bujanovac, and Medvegja, including scholarships for students, support for pupils, and funding for lobbying and advocacy activities at the international level.
  • Approved the final decision on the expropriation of former socially-owned immovable properties in the public interest, required for the implementation of several projects of the Municipality of Hani i Elezit. This decision finalizes the expropriation process for the implementation of the following projects: Reconstruction of the Football Field;
    Legal resolution of ownership for the Water Bottling Plant;
    Construction of the Culture and Youth Center;
    Road expansion near the Customs Terminal.
  • Approved the preliminary decision on expropriation in the public interest of the socially-owned property “Kombinati i Drurit” (Wood Processing Plant) in Ferizaj. The expropriation is necessary for the implementation of the “FLOWS” project, financed by the World Bank and “Hidromorava”, the Regional Water Company.
  • Appointed the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Human, Animal, and Environmental Health “One Health”. The appointment of this committee marks an important step for public health in Kosovo. This cross-sectoral body reflects the Government’s commitment to a comprehensive approach to protecting the health of our citizens.
  • Approved the request of the Kosovo Privatization Agency to return transferred funds from the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo to the Socially-Owned Enterprise “Çeliku” (the Steel) in the amount of €6,405.
  • Reallocated €50,000 for capital projects in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed by the Minister of Local Government Administration and the Mayor of Peja. The project concerns the installation of public lighting in the villages of Nakell and Gorazhdec in the Municipality of Peja.
  • Approved the report on the Functioning of the Internal Financial Control System in the Public Sector for 2024. This consolidated annual draft report reflects summarized assessments conducted for public sector entities and includes findings, conclusions, and recommendations for further improvements.
  • Approved the initiative to conclude a protocol between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on the readmission of persons without authorization. The aim of this initiative is to facilitate procedures for the identification and safe and orderly return of persons who have not fulfilled the conditions for legal entry or stay in the territories of either country.
  • Approved the Draft Annual Plan of Official Statistics for 2026. The objectives included in the 2026 Annual Work Plan derive from the five-year Program of Official Statistics, the implementation of which is based on the optimal use of human and financial resources, enhancing organizational and production efficiency.
  • Appointed the Ad hoc Admission Committee for the high-level managerial position of Executive Director at the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Justice.
  • Approved the request for borrowing up to €10,000,000 for “Infrakos J.S.C.” for company liquidity purposes.
