Prime Minister Kurti held a telephone conversation with the Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a telephone conversation with the Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos. In this conversation, they discussed the enlargement and the progress of Kosovo’s reforms towards integration into the European Union.

Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that among the first decisions of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, in addition to the approval of the new budget worth 4 billion euros, was the approval of the Growth Plan worth 882.6 million euros, which aims to accelerate reforms and the economic development of the country.

Following the approval of the Growth Plan, a series of steps for implementation have been foreseen in the first half of this year, closely related to the passing of laws in the Assembly, amounting to around 90 million euros.

Integration into the European Union remains a key priority of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Prime Minister underlined the importance of obtaining candidate status as an important step towards membership in the European Union.

Current developments in the country and the region were also discussed.

Kosovo is fully aligned with the foreign and security policy of the European Union and has joined all EU sanctions packages against the Russian Federation, in response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
