During his visit to the Municipality of Gjilan, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, Members of Parliament, and the Mayor of the Municipality, Alban Hyseni, made their next stop at the “Bashkim Selishta-Petriti” Sports Hall, where comprehensive renovation works are currently underway.
The investment amounts to 2.78 million euros and includes the refurbishment of the building’s façade, the hall floor, the stands, the heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, the changing rooms, sanitary facilities, the roof, and even the remodeling of the outdoor areas, including the sports field and the covered stand in the sports hall’s yard.
The works began in January of this year and are proceeding according to the project’s dynamic work plan. The renovation is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2027.
The sports hall will also be used for the 2030 Mediterranean Games, as the city of Gjilan is among the ten municipalities in Kosovo hosting the largest sporting event ever organized in our country, with around 5,000 athletes from 23 countries expected to participate.
