The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed today in his office, the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.
Ambassador Orav congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on the formation of the government and the new governing mandate. He also congratulated Kosovo on the approval of the European Union Growth Plan.
The Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Orav for the congratulations. During the meeting, he reiterated the pledge that the Republic of Kosovo will always be a reliable and serious partner of the European Union and that the reform agenda remains a priority of the Government, as well as repeated the need for Kosovo to receive the candidate country status as soon as possible and the questionnaire from the European Commission to further advance on the path towards integration and full membership in the European Union.
Full statement to the media of Prime Minister Kurti after the meeting with Ambassador Orav:
I thanked Ambassador Orav, the Head of the European Union Mission in our country, for his congratulations on the constitution of the Assembly of the 10th Legislature and the formation of the Government, as well as for the approval of the European Union Growth Plan, which has an overall value for our Republic of 882.6 million euros, of which nearly 30 percent are grants, while slightly over 70 percent are loans.
I also repeated the pledges of the Republic of Kosovo that our state will be as it has always been a reliable and serious partner of the European Union and we consider that the European Union is the organization of peace and security, where we want to both contribute and benefit, and for this it is necessary to receive the candidate country status and the questionnaire from the European Commission as soon as possible, which will help us accelerate the reform agenda that will undoubtedly be a priority of our government.
