Prime Minister Kurti Meets with US Senator Jeanne Shaheen

Washington D.C., USA, 30 September, 2025

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his meetings today in Washington D.C., United States of America. He, together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the USA, Ilir Dugolli, met with Democratic Senator from New Hampshire, Jeanne Shaheen.

Bilateral relations, recent developments in the country, economic progress, defense investments, improved security and the rule of law were among the topics of discussion. The Prime Minister highlighted the cooperation with the United States of America in the field of defense, the Government’s decision to remove customs tariffs on all products originating from the United States, and the continuation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact program for Kosovo by the new American administration, as the main developments and of common interest within the framework of Kosovo-US bilateral relations. They also discussed the opportunities that our country offers to American companies and investors.

Senator Shaheen had visited our country after the terrorist and paramilitary attack of September 24, 2023 in Banjska in Zveçan and has continuously called for the arrest of Millan Radoicić – who, as the prime minister pointed out, continues to be and is free in Serbia two years after the attack and the admission of guilt.
