Last night, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the Director for the Western Balkans at the German Federal Foreign Office, Michael Reiffenstuel, together with the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, at a dinner hosted by the ambassador at his residence.
They discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between Kosovo and Germany, particularly in the fields of economy and foreign investments, the situation in the Western Balkans region and European integration, as well as the latest developments in the country and the current political situation.
The Prime Minister highlighted the country’s positive economic performance in the first half of the year, the results of employment policies, and the smooth functioning of government and state institutions, including the protection and well-being of minorities. Among other issues, he expressed his concern about the risks posed and the difficulties caused by disinformation campaigns and fake news in distorting truths and creating harmful narratives for democratic societies and institutions.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Reiffenstuel for his visit and for Germany’s continued support to the Republic of Kosovo.
