Pristina, 23 March, 2026
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the Ambassador of Switzerland, Jürg Sprecher, in a meeting.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Switzerland is one of Kosovo’s most valuable partners and added that the relations between the two states, in addition to the connection through the diaspora, are built on common values, such as: the rule of law, democratic governance and sustainable development.
After saying that he is interested in deepening cooperation with Switzerland in the new mandate, Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Sprecher for the continued support through KFOR and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Within the framework of the four-year SDC program, Switzerland has pledged a total of 86 million euros for Kosovo, while for the new period 2026-2029, more than 64 million euros have been pledged.
Ambassador Sprecher congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on his new mandate, emphasizing that Switzerland will work closely with Kosovo’s democratic institutions.
Among other things, the meeting discussed the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland, as a bridge between the two countries, as well as the Free Trade Agreement – EFTA, signed in January last year in Davos, but which has not yet been ratified by the Kosovo Assembly.
