Prime Minister Kurti Holds Meeting with Students from Florida State University

Prishtina, May 23, 2025

Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with a visiting group of students from Florida State University. During the meeting, he briefed them on the latest political, economic, and democratic developments in Kosovo.

Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Kosovo is a prime example of how economic progress and democratic development can advance hand in hand. He noted that Kosovo is the most democratic country in the Western Balkans and simultaneously the fastest-growing economy in the region. Highlighting that the average age of the population is only 34, the Prime Minister underlined the government’s policies supporting youth.

The number of employed young people has doubled thanks to employment initiatives, while higher education at public universities is now free, with scholarships primarily allocated to STEM fields—where 96.7% of beneficiaries are women.

He added that the technology sector is growing rapidly, driven by low tax rates for individuals and businesses, as well as a young, educated, and multilingual population.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the students for the engaging conversation and wished them a productive and pleasant stay in Kosovo.
