The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in his office the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Niko Peleshi.
On this historic date for the Albanian nation, the anniversary of the Lezha Assembly, which marks the unification of the Albanian princes in 1444, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania emphasized the importance of unity and close cooperation between our two states. It was appreciated that Kosovo and Albania, as two states of one nation, share common aspirations for sustainable development, strengthening of democratic institutions and Euro-Atlantic integration.
During the meeting, the deepening of inter-institutional cooperation, increased coordination in foreign policy, as well as the advancement of the integration agenda towards the European Union were discussed.
Prime Minister Kurti assessed that Kosovo and Albania support and push each other forward in the development and integration processes, considering the achievements as common and working with dedication for the European future of the citizens of both countries. It was reiterated that close cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania remains a strategic priority and an important guarantee for stability, development and well-being in the region.
