Prime Minister Kurti Attended the Eighth Edition of the “Ta Zbardhi Fytyrën” Artistic Evening

Prishtina, 21 November 2025

The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the eighth edition of the “Ta zbardhi fytyrën,” (“To Make You Proud”) artistic evening held at the AAB “Faruk Begolli” Theatre, where choreographer and dancer Blenard Azizaj was honored.

Addressing those present, Prime Minister Kurti said that tonight we honor the choreographer and dancer Blenard Azizaj, who returns to Prishtina after a successful trajectory in theatres in Germany, France, New Zealand, Mexico, Hong Kong, Brazil, and England.

He further stated that although the award is called “Ta zbardhi fytyrën” (“To Make You Proud”), in truth it is artists like Blenard who make us proud, as a society and as countries of the region.

Wishing them a pleasant evening and ever-greater success in future editions, Prime Minister Kurti said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports will continue to support such initiatives that strengthen our culture and connect Kosovo with the world.

Full speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

This evening, here at the AAB “Faruk Begolli” Theatre, at the eighth edition of the “Ta zbardhi fytyrën” (“To Make You Proud”) award, we come together to honor choreographer and dancer Blenard Azizaj. Born in Albania and trained as a ballet dancer in Greece, he comes to Prishtina after a successful trajectory in theatres in Germany, France, New Zealand, Mexico, Hong Kong, Brazil, and England. As of January 2026, Blenard will embark on a new international tour with the performance “Balkan Erotic Epic,” bringing to global stages a unique language of the body and of the Balkans.

This award bears the name “Ta zbardhi fytyrën,” (“To Make You Proud”) but in reality it is artists like Blenard who make us proud—both as a society and as countries of our region. His presence in Prishtina is an honor for our cultural and artistic scene, as well as an inspiration for new generations of dancers and choreographers.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, I would like to emphasize that we will continue to support such initiatives that strengthen our culture and connect Kosovo with the world.

I wish you a pleasant evening and ever-greater success in the editions to come.
